Visiting the NC State Insect Museum
A campus map is also available.
We highly encourage efforts to help us curate the NCSU Insect Collection, and arrangements for parking passes, research space, etc. can be made through Bob Blinn for any potential research-oriented visitor. Visits to the Museum are generally scheduled during normal working hours (Mon-Fri, 9:00am to 4:00pm), though weekend and off-hour visits may be scheduled upon special arrangements with the Collection Manager or the Director:NC State Insect Museum

We are located on the top floor of Gardner Hall, in room 4321.
We are an active research museum and currently do not have the infrastructure or staff to receive large numbers of visitors on a regular basis. We are open to the public by appointment, however, and groups and individuals who would like to visit the NC State Insect Museum should make prior arrangements with Bob Blinn. We are very cramped for space at this time and regret that we cannot accept groups of more than 10 people. Tours of the collection for the public, as a rule, do not exceed 30 minutes. Alternatively, you could arrange to have entomology graduate students bring portions of the collection to you! The Entomology Graduate Student Association runs an excellent and active outreach program. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences also maintains a small insect collection in its Discovery Room, which is much more accessable to larger groups.
